Beşiktaş Reportedly Set a Very High Bar for Any Oh Hyeon-gyu Sale
Beşiktaş are reportedly unwilling to part with South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu during the January transfer window unless an exceptionally large offer arrives.
British reports citing Turkish media say clubs in England are monitoring the 25-year-old, but Beşiktaş currently regard Oh as an important part of their squad and have no immediate intention of selling him. The figure required to change that position has been described as “astronomical,” although no specific asking price has been publicly confirmed.
Oh joined Beşiktaş from Genk in 2026 and is under contract until 2029. The arrival of Dušan Vlahović has increased competition for the centre-forward position, but squad depth remains important, particularly given Vlahović’s recent injury problems and Beşiktaş’s commitments in several competitions.
The reports therefore appear to indicate a negotiating position rather than an active plan to sell. Interest may develop ahead of January, but Beşiktaş would seemingly require a bid significantly above what they regard as the player’s normal market value before reconsidering his place in the squad.
