Beşiktaş Returns to EuroLeague for the 2026–27 Campaign, Replacing AS Monaco

EuroLeague Basketball has finalized the lineup of twenty participating clubs for the 2026–27 continental men's club basketball season, which commences on 24 September 2026. Beşiktaş Istanbul represents the only adjustment to the 20-team roster compared to the previous campaign, entering the competition in place of French side AS Monaco.

The upcoming regular season consists of 38 rounds and 380 games structured in a double round-robin format through 16 April 2027. Under the tournament regulations, the top six teams earn direct entry into the best-of-five playoff quarterfinals, while sides finishing seventh through tenth contest the Play-In Showdown for the remaining two postseason berths.

Beşiktaş is scheduled to play its home fixtures at the Beşiktaş GAİN Sports Complex. The team opens its EuroLeague campaign on 25 September 2026 against Valencia Basket, followed by an encounter against FC Barcelona on 2 October and the first domestic EuroLeague derby of the season against Anadolu Efes on 22 October 2026.

In the 2025-26 BKT EuroCup Finals, Beşiktaş GAİN's hopes for a European title were dashed following a tense 73-71 defeat to French side Cosea JL Bourg in Game 2. Despite trailing during the matchup, Beşiktaş managed to level the score in the final moments with crucial points from Lemar. However, a last-second layup by Mokoka secured the victory and the EuroCup trophy for Bourg-en-Bresse, simultaneously granting them a spot in the upcoming EuroLeague season. Prior to the match, Beşiktaş head coach Dusan Alimpijevic and forward Anthony Brown had expressed confidence in their ability to reclaim the series, but the French hosts ultimately proved too resilient.
