Beşiktaş Basketball Edges Out Galatasaray to Clinch Semifinal Berth
ISTANBUL — Beşiktaş GAIN has advanced to the semifinals of the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL) after securing a hard-fought victory over cross-town rivals Galatasaray MCT Technic. In the third and deciding game of the playoff quarterfinal series, Beşiktaş utilized its home-court advantage at the Akatlar Arena to seal a 71-68 victory.
The contest remained tightly contested until the final whistle, with Beşiktaş bouncing back effectively from their previous narrow loss. Head coach Dušan Alimpijević’s strategic rotations proved decisive in stopping Galatasaray's late-game offensive runs. Beşiktaş's scoring distribution showcased balanced execution, led by Brynton Lemar with 14 points, while Matt Morgan, Devon Dotson, and Ante Žižić each contributed 10 points to secure the victory.
With this quarterfinal series concluded at 2-1, Beşiktaş GAIN officially claims the final semifinal spot in the domestic playoffs, where they are scheduled to face Bahçeşehir Koleji.
