Oh Hyeon-gyu Shines as Beşiktaş Targets Bae Joon-ho in Dual Transfer Strategy
South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu has rapidly become a pivotal figure for Beşiktaş. Since his transfer—following a period where he overcame homesickness during his time at Celtic—he has scored 5 goals in 8 matches, bringing his season total to a career-high 15 goals. Oh has openly discussed his ambitions in Turkey, noting a promise from the club that he would be gifted a watch if he meets his specific goal targets.
His successful integration is now serving as a catalyst for Beşiktaş's front office. The club is actively pursuing 22-year-old Stoke City midfielder Bae Joon-ho, utilizing Oh's presence as a "recruitment card." The proposed transfer fee for the young midfielder is reportedly hovering near 8.8 billion South Korean won.
