Beşiktaş Demand Evidence or Apology From Kutluay Over Walker Remarks
Beşiktaş issued a statement challenging basketball commentator İbrahim Kutluay over his remarks about the signing of Lonnie Walker IV. The club called on Kutluay to substantiate his comments or issue a public apology.
Kutluay had drawn attention to Walker’s agreement with agent Miško Ražnatović shortly before joining Beşiktaş, noting that Ražnatović and head coach Dušan Alimpijević are both Serbian. Beşiktaş interpreted the remarks as implying that personal connections had influenced the transfer and rejected that suggestion.
The club said it would seek action from EuroLeague management if an apology was not forthcoming. The statement expressed Beşiktaş’s position; it did not announce a disciplinary ruling by the competition.
