Turkish Giant Chases the King: The Mohamed Salah to Beşiktaş Transfer Saga

Numerous international reports from outlets such as Foot Mercato, Gulf News, and beIN SPORTS recently indicated that former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah had reached an initial verbal or financial agreement to join Turkish Süper Lig club Beşiktaş JK. The 34-year-old winger, who became a free agent at the end of the previous season, was rumored to have been offered a lucrative one-year contract with an automatic extension option, valued between €10 million and €12 million annually. Additional speculation suggested he would form a new attacking trident alongside South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu and Belgian winger Leandro Trossard.

However, both Beşiktaş JK and Salah's representatives have firmly rejected these claims. The Turkish club issued an official statement dismissing the reports, classifying them as "entirely fictional" and specifically discrediting assertions made by digital sports journalists. Furthermore, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that while Beşiktaş had submitted an official opening offer to the Egyptian international, no agreement had been finalized. Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, publicly rebuked the rumors on social media, stating on X that he has no definitive knowledge of where the player will sign next and noting that they do not negotiate simply to create media noise.
