Trabzonspor Denies Mohamed Salah Agreement as Beşiktaş Pursuit Encounters Financial Hurdles
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan officially clarified that the club has not reached an agreement to sign former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah. Speaking to media outlets, Doğan confirmed that no active transfer plans or negotiations are taking place regarding the 34-year-old Egyptian international, despite widespread speculation in Turkish media.
This clarification comes amid reports that Beşiktaş J.K. had previously taken the lead in securing Salah's signature. Negotiations between Beşiktaş and Salah’s representatives reportedly stalled over financial terms, specifically agent commission fees and a proposed salary package estimated at €12 million per year on a single-season deal.
The high-profile pursuit of Salah reached governmental attention in Türkiye, where Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş publicly acknowledged the fan-driven "Come to Beşiktaş" campaign. While Beşiktaş management has not completely abandoned its efforts, negotiations remain paused as alternative options are evaluated.
