Turkish Football Rocked by Extensive Betting Investigation Involving 448 Officials
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has suspended and referred 448 club officials to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) as part of a widespread sports betting scandal. The investigation encompasses figures from major Turkish clubs, including the president of Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş Vice President Hakan Daltaban. Daltaban has publicly denied any illegal activity, stating that transactions were made via a legal betting account opened five years ago using small amounts, and emphasized his complete non-involvement with betting on Beşiktaş matches.
