Beşiktaş Secure Europa League Third Qualifying Round Spot with Victory Over Midtjylland

Beşiktaş JK secured progression to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League following a 2–0 second-leg victory over Danish side FC Midtjylland at the MCH Arena in Herning. Having won the first leg 1–0 in Istanbul, the Turkish club advanced with a 3–0 aggregate scoreline.

The return match remained scoreless through the first half despite opportunities for both sides. The decisive shift occurred early in the second half when FC Midtjylland defender Martin Erlić received a second yellow card in the 52nd minute, leaving the host team with ten players. Beşiktaş capitalized on the numerical advantage in the 70th minute when Milot Rashica scored from inside the penalty area. Six minutes later, captain Orkun Kökçü converted a penalty kick after Rasmus Kristensen committed a foul inside the box to consolidate the win.

With this outcome, Beşiktaş will now face Czech club FC Hradec Králové in the third qualifying round. The advancement reflects a successful start for head coach Vincenzo Italiano in his first European campaign with the club, maintaining consecutive clean sheets across both legs.
