Refereeing Dispute Continues After Beşiktaş–Kocaelispor Match
Beşiktaş’s 2–1 victory over Kocaelispor was followed by criticism of the officiating from both clubs.
Kocaelispor president Recep Durul questioned the consistency of penalty and red-card decisions and alleged double standards in the use of VAR. He praised his team’s performance while calling for fairer treatment.
Beşiktaş coach Vincenzo Italiano separately criticised incidents against his players in the Kocaelispor and Alanyaspor matches that he described as punches. He said their going unpunished was unacceptable. The allegations reflect the respective clubs’ assessments; the reports do not establish an official finding of misconduct by the officials.
