Beşiktaş Fall in Trabzon as Tufan and Salah Settle the Contest

Beşiktaş lost 2–0 away to Trabzonspor at Papara Park on 19 October in the eighth round of the Süper Lig. Ozan Tufan opened the scoring in the 21st minute, and Mohamed Salah added the second in the 71st as the visitors’ attempts to recover went unrewarded.

André Onana’s performance also attracted attention, with reports crediting the Trabzonspor goalkeeper with seven saves. The result moved Trabzonspor into fourth place on 16 points, one point ahead of fifth-placed Beşiktaş. Salah’s goal took his league tally to eight.

Vincenzo Italiano identified concentration, passing in attacking areas and finishing as priorities after the defeat. In comments published by Beşiktaş, the coach expressed satisfaction with the team’s overall performance but said their possession and chances had failed to produce the required result.
